DENTAL
The graduated dental technologist has an opportunity to work in the field of dentistry to improve community dental health and can assist maxillofacial surgeons during surgeries. Dental technologists are the members of the dental health team who work in laboratories to construct and repair dental devices used in orthodontics, treatment bridge work, dentures, surgical splints, etc., and can also supervise the technical aspects of dental laboratory operations.
RADIOLOGY
It prepares a cadre of health technologists who can effectively assist health professionals in the delivery of quality health care and services. It introduces and imparts standard technical education with new modern techniques within the fields of radiology technology to replace the conventional methods of pre-service training. A radiology technologist is a member of the healthcare team who works directly with the patient and the physician in performing a wide variety of diagnostic imaging procedures. Radiographic technologists are employed in hospitals, clinics, and various imaging centers.
SURGICAL
Surgical technology is a specific technical profession in the surgical management of patients. Surgical Technologists (ST) ensure that every single procedure in the operation theater is as safe and successful as possible. Their primary duty is to take care of all the work and management of the operation theater, which includes looking after all surgical instruments, sterilization, and arrangement of the operation theater table, dressing table, and instrument table.
ANESTHESIA
Anesthesia technologists are part of a surgical team. They assist anesthesiologists in managing a patient’s pain during surgery by administering anesthesia and monitoring patient status. Anesthesia technologists are well versed with the pharmacology of anesthetic and nonanesthetic drugs. They are trained in preparing anesthesia trolleys, checking the machines for suction, gas system operation, working of OT tables, various gases used in OT, and use of inhalational agents.
Pathology
MLT is a supportive branch of medicine providing laboratory diagnostic services. Medical laboratory technologists perform complex and varied laboratory analysis and use critical thinking skills in determining the accuracy and validity of test results. They recognize the interdependency of testing information and possess the knowledge of physiologic and pathologic conditions affecting results in order to support medical decisions.
